Pregnant Lady and Broken Back Husband Try To Get Ready For Dayton!

Yep, crazy times here in the Anderson house. We are frantically getting the house ready for the movers on Monday. We have to be out by next Thursday...ONE WEEK! On top of that, Mike is still in his back brace and I'm 12 weeks pregnant!! We are super excited for number two and get to see the little one during tomorrows ultra sound. So fun but I've been tired and must have my daily nap. :)

I apologize for the delay in updating our blog. I have a CD full of wonderful photos from our trip to Oregon for a week. We were able to spend lots of time with Mike's family and friends before we pack up for Ohio. I'll get there...it just might take awhile! Please be patient!

We love you all and hope everyone is doing well. We are trying to see as many folks as we can before we head out of town on top of everything else. We sure will miss everyone here in Colorado...including the mountains too!

Talk to you soon! Janelle, Mike & Lucas

4th of July Weekend

We left Thursday morning and headed to Montrose, CO to meet my parents. We wanted to head to the most beautiful areas in Colorado before heading out to Ohio. We toured the Ouray area soaking in as many mountain scenes as physically possible! This part of the world is about 30 minutes from where I grew up for 18 years. Yes, I was a very spoiled little girl but this is where I developed my true love for mountains and the Great Outdoors! The San Juan Mountain Range is spectacular and like nothing else. They are located right around Ouray, Ridgeway, Telluride, Silverton and Durango, Colorado... young mountains and very jagged with peaks that go on for miles! I don't think we'll find anything like this in Ohio but I've heard Ohio has it's own beauty!

Mt. Sneffles in the back ground. This is the trail head to Blue Lakes, a hike I did with my family has a young child. My mom loved this place and you can't help but understand how she felt when you are up there...absolutely stunning!Ouray, CO just before fireworks!
The BIG BOOM! The City of Ouray fires off dynamite that echos through the mountain canyon and sends chills up your spine to kick off the firework show!

The whole crew...Grandma J, Lucas, Mike, Grandpa J and Janelle

Here's our home for the weekend...you can see Sedrick getting in a nap before more excitement. We had a few rough nights. Lucas came down with an eye infection which spread to his sinuses and left ear. We had to make a trip to Urgent Care to get antibiotics on Saturday and he's still recovering. What a trooper for sure. His eyes would be sealed shut in the morning and his cough bugged him at night. Overall, he was in high spirits but he looked drugged the whole time with red, blood-shot eyes.

One night he was really sad and crying and repeated, "I want to be happy...I want to be happy"....then he paused and grabbed my hand. He said, "Mommy, what is my hand doing?" When I felt his hand he was saying "I love you!" in sign language...my heart melted. I said, "Your hand is saying I love you!" He said, "Yes, it is...I love you Mommy!" Then it was back to "I want to be happy!" How sweet is that and one of those moments you want to save forever!

Grandma relaxing under the new cabana!
Grandpa showing Lucas fun things in the camp box...matches and other fun dangerous stuff!
S'mores Time with Daddy!
Okay, maybe S'mores for Mommy and Daddy but Lucas wasn't waiting for that...
Sticky Goodness! He was not going to let his sickness get in the way of roasting marshmallows....that's my boy!

Boating! This was a highlight for sure. Lucas watch Grandpa's ever move very intently not to miss anything. He also learned all about the wake and even got to help drive too!

The San Juans! What a lovely sight...one that I will miss for sure!
Happy to be home!

Oops..."Mommy, I got too much BBQ Sauce!"You think?!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!

The North Pole

So, I was a little skeptical about going to the North Pole. It's an amusment park just outside Colorado Springs located up the canyon to Pike's Peak and I've driven by the signs for years but thought it was a little silly.

Well, to my surprise...it was awesome! We were invited to go with some ladies from our FunFit class and what a fun place for young and older children. It was one of the most pleasant amusment parks I've ever been too! It's located on a mountain side, under big huge pine trees so it was shady and cool. There were probably 20 rides for 1 year olds and up. It was perfect because Lucas and his friends could go on all the rides by themselves and really have fun. They also have a Gondola, Train, Water Fountains, Animals to Feed, Yummy Treats and Wonderful Candy and Toy Stores! If you get a chance, you should really go! They have a great Military discount too!

First ride of the day and not really sure about everything...This one was his favorite because he could control the up and down movement of his airplane...a real pilot!
We even got to see Santa and his house. Lucas was sure to thank him for his bike and toys he got last December!
On top of the Ferris Wheel...Mommy's favorite! This was a big deal because he's excited about the ferris wheel in his Go Dog Go! book so it all came to life when he got to ride one too!
The view of the Ferris Wheel going around and around!
What a fun day! Highly recommended!

Water Fun!

Boy do we love the Slip-N-Slide!You know what?! Lucas is getting really good at it too. The hill helps of course but he's got the routine down. "One. Two. Three. GO!" Run, run, run...almost stop and slide! A couple times he hit the grass so we had to make a landing pad with one of the beach towels. It worked really well and boy was he happy!

Here's my favorite video...
coming soon

Grandma & Grandpa Jakulewicz's House

Hello Everyone! I'm sorry again for the delay in my posts. It's amazing how busy things get just before moving. We are trying to squeeze in as many visits as possible before heading to Ohio on August 5th. Less than one month to go and an amazing list of "things to do" which somehow will have to get done...I hope!

Two weekends ago we went to my parents house to visit and give everyone a little change of scenery. It was a great visit and Lucas had a ball of course!

Hanging out in the shade!Cinnamon Roll Heaven! Sticky goodness!

Morning cuddles with Grandma! Mommy and Daddy loves these too and we were able to sleep in until 8:30 which is unheard of. What a treat!
