10.11.12

I've been so busy today, a productive busy so it was good. It was only moments ago, when I sat down on the couch to relax that I realized today's date is 10.11.12. There was a news story on about a little baby born at 8:09 10/11/12...how cool is that?!

Anyways, we had a little LOT of fun decorating cakes for the Green Corn Festival which is scheduled for tomorrow evening at Lucas' school. They have a cake decorating contest so I baked a few cakes to let the boys decorate. They had a ball...we all did. There was even one left over for me to decorate along with some leftover frosting. :) How there was left over frosting with these two is still a mystery to me. HA!

Lucas would not let me help. He drew out some ideas and went right to work. He loves drawing Angry Birds characters and quickly realized that the frosting in a piping bag could be used like marker. Luckily, I have about 6 piping bags so it was easy to have various colors available. I was so impressed with his detail and piping skills!

Angry Birds Mighty Eagle.

Angry Birds Red Bird.

Axel did a great job too making a volcano train. :) Too flippin' cute!!
He's such a character! :)
Busy too!

Lucas was very proud of his finished cakes...

...as he should be!

So was Axel although this photo doesn't necessarily express that.

There's the smile!

The whole collection.
In other news:
1. We've been able to Skype with Daddy every few days and it's fun to watch the boys comfort level increase each time. The biggest challenge is taking turns and not talking over each other on this end. It is so nice to be able to see him. He is reading lots of books, figuring out his new job, working out and getting into a routine. Now, if only we could get the months to tick by a tad faster. :) I know, we shouldn't rush through life but I think it would be okay to rush through 6 months of life. We sure miss you Daddy and love you very much! Hang in there!

2. Lucas had a fun day in Art Class this week getting to paint his own face.
3. We also got a new-to-us bunk bed. We love it and it matches the rest of the furniture perfectly. Gotta love craiglist!!
All this talk about beds makes me sleepy. Good night!
